Canadian Foundation for Development and Empowerment
The Canadian Foundation for Development and Empowerment is an Edmonton non-profit working with children, youth, newcomers and low-income families. CFDE helps children, youth and young adults reach their full potential, both academically and socially.
We work to remove the social and financial barriers that hold young people back, providing school materials, tutoring, information about community resources and practical support for the families who need it.
We support students who are in school, and we also work with young people who have left school, helping them return to education or find a route into training and work.
In The Loop provides free recreational, cultural and educational experiences for Edmonton youth ages 13–17. These opportunities are made possible through local businesses that donate experiences to youth.
We currently have 5 free mini-golf spaces available for five different youth. This is part of a year-round program, with new opportunities released throughout the year.
There is no cost to the youth or their families.
