Annual General Meeting 2026

Annual General Meeting 2026

You are invited to join us for the Chappelle Community League (AGM)

📅 Date: September 24, 2026
🕖 Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
📍 Location: TBD

This is an important opportunity to learn about what our Community League has accomplished, what we have planned for the year ahead, and—most importantly—how you can get involved!

New Board Members & Volunteers Needed

During the AGM, new board members and volunteers will be elected/appointed to help support the League and our community. Whether you are interested in taking on a Board position or would prefer to contribute behind the scenes, there is a place for you!

You do not need to commit to a major leadership role to make a difference. We have a variety of opportunities based on different skills, interests, and availability.

Note: To be eligible to serve on the Chappelle Community League Board, you must be a resident of Chappelle and a current, active member of the Chappelle Community League. An active Community League membership is a prerequisite for all Board positions.

Interested in Joining?

All roles and expectations have been outlined on our website so you can learn more before deciding where you would like to contribute. If you are interested in any position:

  1. Review the available positions and their expectations on our website.

  2. Book your ticket for the AGM.

  3. When registering, you may indicate which position you are interested in nominating yourself or someone else for.

  4. At the AGM also, all positions will be shared so interested members can choose the opportunity that best suits them.

Be Part of Your Community

You can help organize events, support communications, assist with programs, contribute your professional skills, or simply help behind the scenes. If you’re not familiar with what the Community League does, we encourage you to attend the meeting, learn more about the work we do in our community, and see how you can get involved. You may even discover an opportunity to volunteer and become part of our team!

Your time, ideas, and skills can make a difference.

Come meet your neighbours, learn more about the League, and consider becoming part of the team!

Reserve your spot and let us know which position interests you. We look forward to seeing you on September 24!

We’re Ready! Community Disaster Preparedness Workshop

The We’re Ready! Community Disaster Preparedness Workshops are being offered to community groups as a collaboration between Neighbourhood Services and the University of Alberta, Department of Emergency Management. The training was developed with support from the Town of High River, University of Alberta, University of Calgary, and York University.

The WE’RE READY! workshop is a step-by-step tool that facilitates communities in designing and implementing their own disaster plans through interactive and hands-on community-building activities. The WE'RE READY! workshop is intended to complement existing emergency preparedness programs, to build on effective strategies, and to promote collaboration. WE'RE READY! is community-based, rather than individual or household-based, and builds on the principles of adult education.

Who are the workshops for?

Neighbourhood Services is offering the program to interested Community Leagues at this time. Workshops are offered for residents of a particular neighbourhood / community league

📅 Date: Sunday, April 12, 2026
Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

❤️ Please consider bringing gently used adult clothing donations for Water Warriors YEG.

🙌 We’re also looking for volunteers to help with setup, takedown, and assisting at tables during the event. If you’re able to help, we’d greatly appreciate your support!
