A Message from the President
Dear Chappelle Community,
As summer arrives, it’s exciting to see the energy and community spirit growing throughout Chappelle. June was a wonderful reminder of what makes our neighbourhood special—neighbours coming together, supporting one another, and creating opportunities for everyone to participate.
Our Community Garage Sale on June 6 was a fantastic success, with more than 75 households taking part! A huge thank-you to Prime Pizza for generously sharing their parking lot with residents who didn’t have a garage but still wanted to participate. It was wonderful to see neighbours browsing, chatting, finding treasures, and spending time together.
The fun continued with Walk Your Neighbourhood on June 7, when residents placed free items on their front lawns for others to discover and enjoy. These simple community initiatives are a great example of how we can connect with one another and give new life to items we no longer need.
We’re also thrilled to welcome back the Green Shack Program, running from June 29 through August 21. In partnership with the City of Edmonton, Green Shack provides free drop-in games, crafts, sports, and outdoor activities for children and families. We encourage families to take advantage of this wonderful summer opportunity and enjoy some active time outdoors with their neighbours.
Behind the scenes, our League continues to grow as well. We are excited to welcome our new Volunteer Coordinator, who will help strengthen our volunteer program and support the many events and initiatives we have planned. We are also looking for passionate community members to join our Communications Team. Whether your strengths are social media, photography, writing, graphic design, newsletters, or simply sharing community stories, there is a place for you.
We’re equally excited about the launch and growth of our Affiliate Membership Program.

I also encourage residents to take advantage of the new exclusive discounts available through our affiliate businesses as part of your Community League membership. These partnerships are designed to create more value for our members while supporting local businesses right here in Chappelle.
Finally, Community League memberships for the 2026–27 year are now available, with the new membership fees beginning August 1. Your membership directly supports our programs, events, advocacy, community initiatives, and future plans. Every membership helps us continue building a stronger and more connected community.
Thank you to our volunteers, residents, local businesses, and everyone who continues to believe in the importance of community. We have many exciting things ahead, and I look forward to seeing more of you at our summer events and activities.
