A Message from the President
As we begin a new year, I want to take a moment to reflect on January and the wonderful sense of community we felt throughout the month.
We started 2026 on a high note with our New Year’s Eve Celebration, held in collaboration with the Chappelle Gardens Residents Association. Seeing neighbours come together, enjoy the evening, and create new memories was a wonderful reminder of what a strong community can look like. The energy, smiles, and community spirit we experienced that evening truly set the tone for the year ahead.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make the celebration possible. Community events don't happen without the people who give their time, energy, and ideas behind the scenes. Your commitment and willingness to step up is what allows the League to continue creating meaningful experiences for our neighbours.
January also gave us an opportunity to remind our members about one of the great benefits of being part of the Community League — free outdoor skating at participating Edmonton rinks. We hope families were able to take advantage of this benefit and enjoy some winter fun together.
Most importantly, we want to hear from you. Our Community Survey is an important part of understanding what our residents want to see from the League. Your feedback helps us shape future programs, events, and initiatives so that we are creating opportunities that genuinely reflect the needs and interests of our community.
Looking ahead, we are excited about what the coming months will bring. Kids soccer registration opens February 2, with Chappelle teams playing under Blackmud Creek this season while we continue our search for a Sports Director. We are also looking forward to building on the momentum we've created and bringing more family events, programs, community connections, and opportunities for neighbours to get involved.
From the League's perspective, January felt like a month of connection, gratitude, and renewed excitement. We could feel the support of our community, and we are incredibly grateful for everyone who participated, shared feedback, volunteered, or simply showed up.
Thank you for being part of the Chappelle Community League. We look forward to continuing this journey together and making 2026 a year filled with connection, participation, and memorable moments.
